Sanchez swings!

Twelve-year-old Steven Sanchez, son of Erasmo and Guadalupe Sanchez of San Benito, was instrumental in helping the 29 Palms Junior Boys All-Stars make history by bringing the city of 29 Palms, Ca its first Boys Junior League California District 58 championship in the 13-14 year-old age division. Sanchez, known for his defensive skills, also lit up opposing pitchers by averaging .550 over 10 postseason games. He has also helped guide the 29 Palms Major Boys All-Stars to their first-ever Boys Major League District 58 championship game last year. (Courtesy photos)
