Twelve-year-old Steven Sanchez, son of Erasmo and Guadalupe Sanchez of San Benito, was instrumental in helping the 29 Palms Junior Boys All-Stars make history by bringing the city of 29 Palms, Ca its first Boys Junior League California District 58 championship in the 13-14 year-old age division. Sanchez, known for his defensive skills, also lit up opposing pitchers by averaging .550 over 10 postseason games.
