Bright future ahead for Sea Turtle Inc. Intern

While most of us were in between dreams Sunday night, 20-year old Brianda Montoya was assisting in the release of 70 sea turtle hatchlings. After volunteering for one year at the Sea Turtle Inc. in South Padre Island, the proud San Benito native is now their youngest intern for the 2015 year. Her fellow interns are college graduates, however Montoya was eager to “step up to the plate.” The young and only intern from the RGV has seamlessly blended in with a team who has aided in the release of 1,500 Kemp’s Ridley hatchlings throughout the course of the summer. During her first week of volunteering with the non-profit organization this past November, Montoya had a special experience with an Atlantic Green Sea Turtle named Nichol
