SBPD reports indicate crime decreased in 2013

emergency-lightsThe San Benito Police Department released the crime statistics for the year 2013, which shows an overall decrease in the number of crimes from the year prior.

According to SBPD data provided by records personnel, there were a total of 757 crimes in ’13, a difference of 94 when compared to the previous year’s statistics which saw a total of 851 crimes.

The statistics show that in ’13, there were four cases of arson, 234 burglaries, 23 robberies and 496 thefts. In comparison, the statistics for ’12 show that there were seven reported cases or arson, 324 burglaries, 20 robberies and 500 thefts.
