’Hounds runners up at baseball tourney

The San Benito Greyhounds baseball team finished as runners up at the annual Mercedes Knights of Columbus Baseball Tournament on from Feb 27 to March 1. The ’Hounds went 3-1 at the tournament with victories over Lyford (4-1), McAllen (8-4), and Brownsville St. Joseph (16-5). McAllen Memorial finished as the yourney champion. Earning all-tournament honors for San Benito were sophomore pitcher/outfielder Mando Medrano, senior third baseman Chris Padilla and sophomore first baseman Joseph Partida.
