At the latest school board meeting, the session opened with public comments. One speaker raised questions about the roles and responsibilities of the companies under consideration for district-related construction projects, noting confusion about each firm’s scope of work.

The meeting then moved to presentations regarding the upcoming performing arts center. Two construction firms—Tri-Gen Construction, Inc. and The D. Wilson Construction Company—delivered proposals outlining their qualifications and approaches.

Tri-Gen Construction, Inc. presented first, emphasizing its integrated design-build approach, which promotes close collaboration between architects, engineers, and the district. The company stressed the importance of maintaining realistic budgets, receiving consistent input from district leadership, and having clearly defined contingency plans. Tri-Gen described their approach to “general conditions” as encompassing all aspects required to complete a construction project.

The company also highlighted past work with another school district, including the installation of synthetic turf, new bleachers, and a dugout at a softball field, as well as the construction of a 796-seat auditorium.

The D. Wilson Construction Company followed, detailing its extensive background in K-12 school construction, with 285 completed projects across 30 school districts. The firm has designed 17 performing arts centers, emphasizing its specialized experience in education-focused construction.

Presenters described their thorough vetting process for subcontractors, which includes interviews about project capacity, change order procedures, and review of scheduling and budget metrics. They also outlined team responsibilities to ensure accountability and project oversight.

Ultimately, the board approved The D. Wilson Construction Company to lead the construction of the new performing arts center and authorized contract negotiations with the firm.

Additional Approvals:
• The board approved Finalsite as the new district website provider for the 2025–2026 school year.
• Budget amendments were also approved.
• In executive session, the board reviewed and approved personnel matters, including employment, contracts, retirements, and terminations.
