Annual folk art exhibit opens in San Benito

The City of San Benito Cultural Arts Department (CAD) presents its annual Castilian Roses in December exhibition, which commemorates the miraculous legend of La Virgen de Guadalupe, whose iconic image is woven into the South Texas/Northern Mexico border visual-landscape.

This forth iteration showcases interpretive artwork, folk art, and poetry from the local community. Participating artists include: Maribel Avendaño (Mission), Jessie Burciaga (Brownsville), Josie Del Castillo (Brownsville), Ramon Claudio (San Benito), Luis Corpus (McAllen), Erika Garza (McAllen), Sara Garza (Pharr), Mario A. Godinez (Harlingen), Elisa De Hoyos (Weslaco), Veronica Jaeger (Mission), Uriel Landeros (Edinburg), Chris Leonard (McAllen), Danielle Lopez (San Antonio), Clarissa Martinez (Brownsville), Gerardo Medina (McAllen), Edward Pro Meza (Port Isabel), Juan De Dios Mora (San Antonio), Gina Palacios (Rancho Viejo), Mariana Prado (Pharr), Alexis Ramos (Edinburg), Samantha Rawls( Brownsville), Gaby Rico (Edinburg), Celina Robledo (Harlingen), Natalia Rocafuerte (Ypsilanti, MI), Adrian Rodriguez (Los Fresnos), Eloy J. Rodriguez (Edinburg), Julian R. Rodriguez (Brownsville), Dominic J.
