Charles M. Robinson Day

The late Charles Robinson’s work was celebrated this past weekend at the San Benito Library. It was the fourth annual Charles Robinson Day and the second held at the San Benito Library. Robinson, who died in 2012, wrote 33 books and had his first book published at the young age of 14. He also served as the San Benito News editor during his illustrious career. The event included excerpts readings from a few of Robinson’s books, as well as personal stories from people who knew Robinson.

Three different people described Robinson as a “walking encyclopedia”. Robinson spent countless hours of his life researching for his 33 historical books. The Charles Robinson Day event featured Charles Robinson’s personal family photos. One photo in particular stood out. It was a family picture taken in his living room. charles r picsWhat differentiated Robinson’s living room from a normal living room was Robinson’s mass collection of encyclopedias.
