The amount of registered sex offenders living in a particular city is arguably one of the main things that people look into before moving into a new city.
Well, according to recent statistics, people might be thinking twice about moving here.
Cameron County has a total of 673 registered sex offenders, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. Although that qualifies as less than half of neighboring Hidalgo County, it’s nearly ten times the amount of Starr and Willacy County each. San Benito itself is responsible for 90 registered sex offenders as of February of this year. Unfortunately, according to Interim San Benito Police Chief Michael Galvan, reports of sexual assault have actually seen an alarming spike over the last year.

Please research and answer this question: what percentage of those cases were committed by someone already on the registry and what percentage were committed by someone with no prior arrest for a s3xual crime?
