The Cameron County District Attorney’s office confirmed Monday afternoon that former Economic Development Corporation Director Salomon Torres is currently under investigation.
The news comes less than one week after Torres was abruptly terminated by new City Manager Manuel De La Rosa last Wednesday night.
The D.A.’s office would not comment on the investigation as it is still ongoing, however did note that it is a joint effort between them and the San Benito Police Department.

Saass. Someone finally listened to the Asst. City Manager.
This activity had been going on since the other City manager.
Now what. Will we finally get someone that is not looking for their own interest i.e..Mr. Torres who had a business in Harlingen or Mrs Whats her name who sent businesses away to Harlingen and Mercedes.
Finally someone is listening and doing something about the questionable activity that is going on.
