Tragedy struck the City of Rio Hondo Friday evening when a mobile-home in a 55 and up community went ablaze, killing an 85-year old man. According to local officials and employees of River Ranch Resort, the call regarding the incident came in about 6 p.m. Friday, with Cameron County Sheriff’s Department and volunteer Rio Hondo firefighters responding to the call. But when authorities arrived, the fire had already caused too much damage, leaving 85-year old Paul Huebner dead.
