When San Benito resident Rebecca Maxwell got her dog back from San Benito Animal Control, her reaction statement described it all: “This is not my dog,” Maxwell told Animal Control Officer Josh Gonzalez.
According to Maxwell, her dog, Lady, a 6-year old Black Labrador, was taken into custody by animal control after allegedly nipping a little girl after breaking free from her home a couple weeks ago.
Maxwell says that animal control kept Lady, who is an inside dog, for a total of 12-days, and when she was returned, she was in a very emaciated condition.
