With one more foreseeable month remaining for Guerra and Farah PLLC to invoice San Benito CISD for investigating recently reinstated Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón, figures as of April 28 indicate that the school district may have incurred legal fees in excess of $22,000.

Specifically, the district has thus far paid Guerra and Farah – the Houston-based law firm the SBCISD Board of Trustees hired in August 2013 to investigate more than 60 allegations against Limón — $22,383.65 at an hourly rate of $150 and for less than a year’s work. In the month of April, the law firm charged the district $1,575, which was a substantial decrease compared to the $7,584.33 and $5,387.32 paid to Guerra and Farah for work conducted in the months of February and March, respectively.

That’s a lot of money that could have been spent on the students of SBCISD? We have included the amount of money to have interim superintendents including what was paid to Mr. Limon? Not including the amount of money that people like Leal, Jesse Aguilera and others made off ex-president Gonzalez and her cronies? Thank you voters of SBCISD!

You are absolutely right. Let us hope that this new board can think like intelligent people.

The $22,383.65 does NOT include all of the lost SBCISD staff time, thousand of dollars WASTED on hiring extra administrators, staff working extra hours catering to board member whims, and general waste of other valuable resources on something OTHER THAN education.
The whole mess probably cost over 200K !
This was a WITCH HUNT from the word go! There should be a REAL TEA investigation to clean up the REAL corruption at SBCISD, inside and out!
