A police report has been filed against Place 2 San Benito City Commission candidate Shirley Vega, who has been accused of non-aggravated assault.

The incident reportedly occurred on Wednesday, April 30, at Sunshine Rehab, which at the time was located at 258 S. Sam Houston Blvd. Sunshine Rehab, a business that provides speech and occupational therapy services to children and adolescents, was renting a building owned by Vega at the aforementioned address.

According to Rachel Trenfield and Judith Oden, who co-operate Sunshine Rehab, the incident occurred over a communications box for telephone services located inside said location.

Shirley Vega is the type of candidate or leader the City of San Benito needs.

She will stand up and fight for the taxpayers like she does defending her property which she has willingly invested in without assistance from the city to improve the city’s downtown district.

That is more than what the current city commission has done. She will be a “LEADER” not a “FOLLOWER”.

She’s got my VOTE because “CHANGE is GOOD” and badly needed in San Benito.

    “VOICE UP” San Benito……………….
