RIO HONDO – The Rio Hondo Lady Bobcats were too much for Zapata and Lyford as the black and gold ran away with 14-6 and 9-5 victories in recent varsity softball action.
The Lady ’Cats scored on 12 runs in the last three innings against the Lady Hawks at Zapata on Tuesday, March 4. Then on Friday, March 7, Rio Hondo held off the Lady Bulldogs at home to improve to 13-5 on the season.
Scheduled to take on the Lady ’Cats next were the Lionettes in La Feria on Tuesday, March 11, in District 32-3A action; then at 7 p.m., Friday, March 14, Rio Hondo will face Hidalgo at home.
