Rocha booked on theft

A San Benito man was arrested this week, accused of theft.

On Friday, April 19, 2024, at around 3 p.m., Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a scrap recycling center located on the 30000 block of Business 77 in San Benito regarding a report of a person allegedly in possession of stolen scrap metal.

While responding to said location, the homeowner of where the alleged theft took place provided a description of the vehicle the suspect was operating.

Upon arrival, sheriff’s deputies located the suspect’s vehicle and identified the operator. The operator was identified as 47-year-old Jaime Rocha.

According to a Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) report, the property owner arrived shortly thereafter and provided sheriff’s deputies with game camera images of the vehicle and Rocha on his property allegedly taking the scrap metal.

The property owner requested to file charges and estimated the value of the stolen scrap metal at $600.

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Rocha and transported him to the Cameron County Carrizales Rucker Detention Center in Olmito pending arraignment. Rocha is charged with Theft, TPC: 31.03, a Class “B” Misdemeanor. The CCSO notes that all subjects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

    These are people who have never worked a day in their lives; that includes the majority of the the population of San Benny who live off the taxpayers with a Lone Star Card in their pocket. Would someone please bulldoze this rotten little sore of a town!
