A San Benito family grieving the loss of their patriarch, who was brutally murdered in 2009, found solace Thursday in the sentencing of the man convicted of the crime.

Ramon Piñon was 84 and bedridden when he was bludgeoned to death with a hammer in his home on the night of April 19, 2009, reportedly over a television, a circular saw, a stereo and a few other minimally-valued items.

Nearly five years after that fateful night, Piñon’s family is finally getting some closure.
