PRC students turn to journalism in LIFE program

Readers may not be aware, but the reporters who penned recent San Benito News articles about the Greyhound wrestling, JV Dark and Light basketball teams have one thing in common: They’re all products of the Cameron County Juvenile Justice Department.

That’s LIFE.

But for these aspiring teen journalists, Ladies Inspired For Excellence is much more than an acronym, it’s indeed a way of life.

As students of the LIFE program, several female residents of the Darrell Hester Juvenile Justice Center in San Benito have found shelter from what County officials termed “chaotic environments” by offering a sense of structure and treatment through community service.
