BROWNSVILLE – A jury on Friday found Juan Carlos Garcia, the driver of a vehicle that struck and killed U.S. Marine Corps veteran Edoardo “Eddie” Polanco near Los Fresnos last year, not guilty of criminal negligent homicide, according to Public Information Officer Melissa Zamora of the Cameron County District Attorney’s Office.

Zamora also confirmed that Garcia, 25, was additionally found not guilty of accident involving personal injury or death. The trial was presided over by 404th State District Judge Elia Cornejo Lopez.
