The San Benito CISD Board of Trustees voted Friday 4-3 to select Flores and Torres, LLP of Edinburg, replacing Austin-based law firm O’Hanlon, McCollom and Demerath.
The latter firm, recently serving in an interim capacity until trustees sought requests for qualifications (RFQs) for a new firm, was hired to provide legal services for the school district in June 2012.
The decision came during a special meeting on March 22 following the termination of the O’Hanlon firm on February 12, this during a special meeting of the Board of Trustees in which Board Secretary June Aguilera accused Leslie McCollom of O’Hanlon, McCollom and Demerath of being “unprofessional” during grievance proceedings.

She wouldn’t know ‘unprofessional’ if it was on her nose!
Ms. McCollom unprofessional? June is a professional part-time cashier at Ross! I can’t believe the people entrusted her with a multi-million dollar district when she can probably barely handle a few hundred in her cash register. Wake up SB!
I remember hearing from the meeting in which you mentioned that there was a person from the O’Hanlon, McCollom and Demerath firm working in an Edinburg firm. If this is the firm, then I would say the administration is a heck of a shock.
Ms. June A. has the audacity to call Ms. McCollom unprofessional. The lady is one of the most highly regarded attorneys in the state of Texas. You have some nerve June A. By the way, get some manners. You certainly do not represent my views. Can’t wait until May 2014!
