A local man accused of inappropriately touching and sexually assaulting a minor was arrested Saturday, San Benito police officers reported.
Detective Rogelio Banda, Jr. of the San Benito Police Department said in a news release that 38-year-old Jorge Luis Conde of San Benito was apprehended at approximately 5:44 p.m. Aug. 14 at a residence located on the 900 block of Arlington Street.
There, Banda said officers were executing an arrest warrant for Conde. According to Banda, Conde had “two outstanding arrest warrants for sexual assault of a child and indecency with a child.”
The victim, a 15-year-old female whose relationship with the suspect is being withheld to protect her identity, made an outcry to a state case worker about the alleged assault. San Benito police were notified June 28.
