The San Benito Civil Service Commission agreed Monday to postpone the hearings in the case of indefinitely suspended Fire Marshal Henry Lopez from April 16-17 to May 28-29.
Rick Navarro, representing the City of San Benito, also agreed to provide Lopez and his representation, Texas State Association of Fire Fighters Staff Representative Joe Singer, with the fire marshal’s personnel file and other items that had been previously requested.
At the hearing, Singer said he was confident in getting Lopez’s indefinite suspension lifted.
“My job is to try to get Mr. Lopez’s job back,” Singer said before responding in the affirmative when asked if he believed Lopez would be reinstated.
