It all started with 18 girls in Savanna, Georgia.

That’s where, on March 12, 1912, Juliette Gordon Low initiated what would become a nationwide organization that now boasts three million strong.

Indeed, as the founder of the Girl Scouts of the USA, Low would be pleased to see how the organization, beginning from humble roots, flowered into a credible institution that’s produced Congresswomen and astronauts.
