Editor’s Note: The following is a press release issued by the San Benito Consolidated Independent School District regarding the death of an eighth grade Miller Jordan Middle School student. San Benito CISD students and staff members are mourning the loss of an eighth grade male student attending classes at Miller Jordan Middle School. The student was involved in a car accident this past weekend.
“We are saddened to learn that one of our students was involved in a car accident which claimed his life this weekend,” said San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón. “We would like to extend our condolences to his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his entire family during this difficult time.”
San Benito CISD is providing counseling services for students and staff members that have been impacted by his untimely death.
Miller Jordan Middle School Principal Rico Rodriguez explained that the eighth grade student was very well liked by the student body. Rodriguez said that students and staff members are collecting donations to help the family with the student’s funeral expenses.
