RIO HONDO – Firefighters from at least six different agencies converged east of Rio Hondo on Friday to battle a warehouse fire reportedly filled with chemicals.
Fire departments from Rio Hondo, Harlingen, San Benito, Santa Rosa, La Feria and Brownsville responded to a call at approximately 1:30 p.m. in reference to a chemical fire located just outside of Rio Hondo on FM 106.
As of presstime, the cause of the fire was unknown as firefighters continued efforts to extinguish the blaze.
