The San Benito Lady ‘Hounds powerlifting team continued their dominance on the powerlifting scene Saturday at Berta Cabaza Middle School.
The Lady ‘Hounds defeated PSJA North, 51-31, for first place as a team.
Newcomer Rae Ann Villafranco shook up the scene with a first place medal finishing 15 pounds ahead of her competition in her first appearance this season and a combined total of 530 pounds. Samantha Machuca sealed first place with 45 pounds ahead of the second place finisher with a 610 pound total. Denise Barrera finished first in her division and five pounds ahead of the second place with a total of 645 pounds.
