City responds to fire marshal’s concerns

Lopez reprimanded on bunker gear, speaking to media

City of San BenitoAssistant City Manager Arturo Rodriguez spoke candidly Tuesday in response to San Benito Fire Marshal Henry Lopez’s concerns about whether the city’s 26 firefighters are enough to adequately service the population.

Lopez, who recently spoke to the News as a member of the San Benito Firefighters Association, has been employed by the city’s fire department for over 30 years and, in recent years, as the town’s fire marshal.
