As first reported on the San Benito News website, www.sbnewspaper.com, a female student from San Benito High School was reportedly injured after falling out of a moving vehicle.
The incident occurred at approximately 1 p.m. Monday on Williams Road in front of the high school; no injuries other than those sustained by said female were reported.
San Benito CISD Superintendent of Schools Antonio G. Limón said it all began when the female student, whose name and age have yet to be revealed, checked out of school and was being driven home by a legal guardian.
According to police officers on the scene, the incident occurred after the student was engaged in an argument with her legal guardian moments after driving off campus.
The girl allegedly became upset with the guardian, whose identity has also not been released, and was allegedly trying to get out of the vehicle while it was coming to a stop. Authorities said the vehicle was still moving when the female fell to the pavement.
An ambulance was called to the scene and the female was treated for minor injuries.
School district authorities confirmed it was officers with the San Benito Police Department that responded to the accident and filed a report. Police have yet to release the report to the News.
