A comprehensive plan that would pursue economic and community development through tourism continues here in its formative stage.
Consultant Petra Rena, of Reyna & Associates, brief City Commissioners on Dec. 14 on the status of the project, saying two years have been invested by many supporters in the creation of this plan.
“We are entering the tail end of the funding process,” said Reyna, who was retained by the San Benito Economic Development Corporation (EDC) to advance the grant application that will be submitted to the US Economic Development Administration (EDA) for potential funding.
