LOS FRESNOS – The Rio Hondo Bobcats defeated the Lyford Bulldogs on Friday at Leo Aguilar Stadium with a final score of 27-14, thus getting past the first round of the playoffs and securing its first bi-district title since 2005.
Coming into the game were two offensive powerhouses that were sure to test both defenses. But it was the Rio Hondo ‘D’ that prevailed over the Bulldog offense, forcing three turnovers, two interceptions and one forced fumble to be exact; opportunities that led to two Bobcat touchdowns and a change in pace.
