gavelA Civil Service hearing in which an examiner heard the appeal of San Benito Police Captain Arnold Garcia and his brother Lieutenant Tony Garcia, both of whom were accused in 2010 of transporting beer using a police unit, concluded Tuesday with no verdict.

According to Assistant City Manager Arturo Rodriguez, Richard R. Brann, who served as the hearing examiner during the proceedings, will most likely not inform the city of his verdict for over a month. Rodriguez said Brann had to review the information presented, including a transcription of the hearings which spanned Monday and Tuesday. Transcribing the hearing alone, Rodriguez said, can take up to 30 days.
