City of San BenitoAt least one San Benito city commissioner opposed the manner in which the police and fire chiefs are to be reassigned and planned to “hold accountable” the city manager for as much.

Commissioner Celeste Zepeda Sanchez said that while she expressed her understanding that City Manager Manuel Lara has the authority to make reassignments, she was displeased with the tone of the announcements in which George Gomez, a 35-year veteran of the police department, and Severo Ochoa of the fire department were to be reassigned from their chiefs position.

Oh come on Celeste. Didn’t you already know that the reassignments had occurred? It was just – barely – announced publicly.
Sorry that the “tone” was not to your likeing. We can’t always please everyone.
I want to know what displeasure you will get when you find out about all the mistakes these guys have made that will be costing the city money.
Certainly when someone gets demoted, it will NOT BE A GOOD TONE!
