A high speed chase here in San Benito Monday afternoon led to the arrest of a local man accused of continuously stealing brisket packages and other miscellaneous items from various local H-E-B’s.
According to a press release issued by the San Benito Police Department, 32-year old Raymond Lopez Rodriguez was arrested and charged with evading arrest, reckless driving and failure to appear Monday after he crashed his Crown Victoria at the intersection of Line 17 Road and North McCullough. Rodriguez’s photo had circulated stores around H-E-B recently after surveillance footage showed him allegedly stealing several packages of brisket, along with beer and other miscellaneous items.

Well Chief MORALES stepping down from a 100,000 DOLLAR A YEAR POSITION. That don’t SOUND RIGHT not even the HARLINGEN POLICE CHIEF MAKES THAT MUCH.Something is UP and I HOPE FOR THE BETTER.The CITY IS FINALLY MOVING in the RIGHT DIRECTION .
In regard to the brisket, I don’t think it will hold until the trial date. So, cook it up, serve it up, and enjoy. How about this, the brisket could be the main course at the former chief”s separation from his position and acceptance of newly created position celebration. Of course, videotape the event in case evidence of the brisket is needed.
