It’s that time of the year again, where teachers and students at schools across the State get to take a week off from the daily grind. That’s right; Spring Break is finally just a few days away.
For many, Spring Break represents vacation time, but for others it can lead to things like handcuffs and jail time. According to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) website, last year’s Spring Break led to 1,389 DWI arrests in Texas. In order to help prevent as many accidents as possible this year, the San Benito Police Department will be using grant money from the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program to allow more officers to be on patrol from March 4th through the 21st.
