The Texas Commission on Environmental Equality confirmed that an investigation was launched on Monday to test water samples provided by the Military Highway Water Supply Company, which serves many local residents, including those in the La Paloma area and other surrounding rural neighborhoods.
The investigation comes after many locals expressed concerns regarding the ‘rusty’ color of their tap water. And according to many longtime residents, this has been an ongoing issue for years.
“I’ve lived around this area for 22 years and it was not that bad back then but it’s been really bad at least the last three years,” said La Paloma resident Joe Palomino………………

I teach in that middle school and there was constant problems with the water. They would bring in gallons of water and cups so we could serve kids through the day. Custodians would leave he faucet running hoping it would clear. It is the city’s responsibility not the schools.
Ill repeat my message again. Another thing i think this paper should cover is the use of chloramine to clean our water. Chloramine is a cheap alternative to chlorine. When it is used it enters our pipes and causes a chemical reaction contaminating our water. We need to be on top of this or we will be the next Flint.
Please don’t put my email address just my name, PWC, in my previous comment. Thanks.
This problem never gets fixed. Its been rusty for years. It’s even in the schools. Instead of fixing the problem, the school district spent tax payer money to install a filtering system for 2 water faucets/sinks to be installed at the middle school in the area. No accountability. Maybe down the road, cancer or some sort of sickness will arise from it and parents/students will be able to sue the water company and district. Maybe then it will be fixed.
