San Benito Greyhound senior Albert Vallejo has one goal he wants to achieve this season and believes he has all the right tools to achieve it.
“Making it as an All-District pitcher is my goal,” said Vallejo, who first started pitching around age 11 in the San Benito Youth Baseball League and his talent continued to flourish and is now a second year varsity starter.
Vallejo knows being named an All-District pitcher and being recognized among his district peers won’t be easy. “It takes a lot of hard work; running, conditioning, and working on mechanics,” said Vallejo.
According to first year varsity Greyhound Baseball Head Coach Xavier Acosta, hard work is just what Vallejo has been delivering.
“He’s a very, very hardworking and respectful young man, and he has the potential to make All-District,” said Acosta of Vallejo, one of three starting pitchers this year.
