San Benito police arrested a man who is accused of allegedly stabbing his ex-wife in the arm earlier this week.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on Monday, March 14 at approximately 9 a.m., when a 43-year-old woman was reportedly alone at her apartment located on the 100 block of South Bowie.

“She lives by herself. She is separated from her common law husband, but lately he’s been going over and trying to convince her to get back together with him,” said Lieutenant Martin Morales of the San Benito Police Department (SBPD). “On Monday morning, he goes over and knocks on her door. She thought it was the landlord because the landlord was supposed to be going over, but as soon as she opened the door, her common law husband forced himself into the apartment.”
