Library offers computer classes

The San Benito Public Library is not just a place to check out a good book; it’s now offering visitors valuable classes in learning how to live in an increasingly digital world.

For the next several weeks, computer classes aimed at instructing people how to use the internet and their email accounts, how to operate mobile devices and tablets, and how to navigate through social media will be available at the library from 8-10 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

“While many take modern-day technology for granted, some people need help learning how to use their phones and pull up certain apps, or how to get connected on Facebook or Instagram. These classes offer people the opportunity to learn,” said Augustin Carrera, San Benito Public Library Director.

Through the end of March, lessons will focus on the introduction to the internet and email. Beginning April 2, lessons will then concentrate on learning to use mobile phones/tablets and how to use the app store.

Finally, beginning April 30, instructions on how to use Facebook and other social media outlets will begin. Classes run through May 9.

The San Benito Public Library is located at 101 W. Rose St. For more information, call (956) 361-3860.
