Cameron County Sherriff’s Deputies arrested an area woman last week believed to be behind an auto theft which occurred in early November.
As reported by the Cameron County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO), on Monday, November 6, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a residence on the 34000 block of Polo Arizmendi, in San Benito, in reference to a stolen vehicle report.
Upon arrival, Sheriff Deputies made contact with the alleged victim who identified suspect Rosa Ricano as the person who took her vehicle on November 1, 2023 and had not returned it.
Sheriff Deputies entered the vehicle as stolen at that time.
On Tuesday, December 19, 2023, the San Benito Police Department (SBPD) notified Sheriff Deputies they had the victim’s stolen vehicle stopped within the San Benito city limits. According to a report issued by the CCSO, Sheriff Deputies responded to San Benito where they detained Ricano and returned the vehicle to its reported rightful owner.
