The City of San Benito announced this week that one of its own is moving on. Martin Saenz, who served as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administrator, was recently named City Administrator for the City of Falfurrias.
At its regular meeting on Nov. 6, 2023, the Falfurrias City Council voted unanimously to appoint Saenz to the position.
His last day with the City of San Benito was Nov. 21 and he is expected to begin his duties in Falfurrias sometime next month. Saenz, a Certified Public Manager, began his career in municipal government with the City of San Benito in 2019.
As CDBG Coordinator, he was instrumental in helping San Benito secure thousands of dollars in federal grants.
