On March 12, 2023, Cameron County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 1800 Block of Rancho Grande, east of San Benito, in reference to a family disturbance.
Prior to the deputies’ arrival, Cameron County Dispatch was provided with the information on the male allegedly causing the disturbance. The male was identified as Esgar Castillo, 26 years old. Castillo reportedly fled the scene before the deputies arrived.
According to the Cameron County Sherriff’s Office (CCSO), once on the scene, the deputies interviewed the complainant and took her statement.
As per the complainant, Castillo was dating her daughter. According to her, he arrived on the scene highly intoxicated and got into a verbal argument with the complainant’s daughter. According to the complainant, Castillo was yelling obscenities at her daughter, and the rest of her family.
