LOS FRESNOS—The 33rd Annual Los Fresnos rodeo kicks off today and runs through Sunday, featuring the acts we all know and love plus new musical performances, including a show from headliner Michael Ray.

The Los Fresnos Rodeo Committee received a $50,000 Hometown Grant from T-Mobile late last year, which they used to build a permanent stage for the event and pave the midway at the Rodeo Grounds.

The Hometown Grant is to aid small towns in their recurring projects that aim to bring families together.

Gates open at 5 p.m. on Friday, 1 p.m. on Saturday, and noon on Sunday. However, the livestock area will be open to the public from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday.

The entrance into the fairgrounds is free but $10 for parking. Tickets for Friday’s Rodeo and concert are $25 and $20 for concert only.

Saturday’s prices are $35 in advance for the rodeo and concert and $25 for the concert only. On the day of the event, prices go up to $40 for the combined events and $30 for concert only.

Sunday’s prices are $16 in advance for the rodeo and $20 the day of the event.

Tickets can also be purchased at the following ticket outlets: Los Fresnos City Hall, Los Fresnos Police Department, Boot Jack Stores Valley-wide and Stitch Gallery in Harlingen.
