Special to the NEWS
The Second Annual Christmas at the Park event is slated for Sunday, Dec. 4, 2022 at Rotary Park, adjacent to the Callandret Black History Museum, 305 Doherty St., San Benito.
The event is organized by the Rotary Club of San Benito, a civic organization, and is open to the community. The event features many activities specifically for children and the young at heart who want a taste of that Christmas magic, according to organizers.
Activities include a Magical Moment with Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus, storytelling, speaking with the Grinch and many more hands-on activities for children such as cookie decorating, coloring contests, face painting, and letters to Santa, which will be published in the San Benito News.
Area businesses are participating by sponsoring booths with a variety of activities for all. Local vendors will be available to provide an opportunity for last minute Christmas Shopping.
The festivities also include a performance stage where school children will be singing, dancing, and providing musical renditions of various Christmas songs.
Nine SBCISD E lementary Schools are participating by featuring their choirs, dance groups, folkloric groups, Guapango groups, and cheer groups. Off stage performers include roaming elves, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and other well-known characters. The amazing Rotary Carolers will also be performing off stage.

What happened to the streets that really need to be fixed? Mayor Guerra has done nothing toward fixing them, yes a couple of streets have been fixed just to keep citizens quiet, but look at which streets were fixed. Message from one citizen next election Guerra your not going to be mayor
