For almost three decades, Cameron County has been using an “outdated” rabies quarantine facility as their official animal shelter. That will change by this time next year as the Cameron County Commissioners Court approved a $1.3 million bid from JCon Construction to build a completely new building that is more than twice the size of the old one.
