Skaters voice their opinion at City meeting

With the discussion of a new skate park finally put on a City agenda in San Benito, the skate community made sure to show their support for the cause. Roughly 20 local skaters gathered together to attend a special City meeting Wednesday, which had 12 items on the agenda. The turnout was so significant, however, it prompted members of the City Commission to skip several of the scheduled agenda items to address the elephant in the room as soon as possible.
The group of skaters, led by San Benito resident and local skater Stacey Gonzalez, voiced their displeasure at the lack of attention and progress for a new skate park, while also outlining several ways the City could go about funding such a park.
