A few years ago, former San Benito graduate Santos Vallejo decided to write an inspirational children’s book based on his real life experiences. He was able to finish the book about two years ago, but was “just too embarrassed to tell anybody about it,” he said.
Well, the cat’s out of the bag now. Vallejo’s book, “Little Santos,” was published recently and is currently available for purchase through Amazon, Kindle, iBooks, and Barnes & Noble libraries.
The 26-year-old Pharr Firefighter says that the desire to show kids that they can be successful no matter where they come from was the driving force in him writing this book. “The book is based on a true story and I’m hoping that it might help motivate some kids, to kind of show them that it doesn’t matter where you come from, you always have a chance to be successful if you work for it,” said Vallejo.
