It’s been a rough ride, literally, for many San Benito residents over the last couple decades. Well, for some, that ride is about to come to a very smooth and comfortable end in the near future. During a meeting of the San Benito City Commission on Tuesday, City officials presented the progress that has been made to many of their recent Street projects.

Since it is an election year, this is nothing more than a flimflam ploy by those in elected office to get re-elected.

Taxes were raised in 2012 (JD PENNY & JD GONZALEZ) for street repairs and now (2015) they are finally addressing the streets that are actually used by the citizens. The city commission decided to spend 60% of the CO money on Travis Street (City Hall), North Mccullough (north of Business 77), Line 17 Road, and Shafer Road. With the exception of Shafer Road, seriously, how many people travel on this particular streets.

If the citizens had not become aware of what was planned by certain commissioners, even private roads would be on the to-do list.

Citizens of San Benito: “DON’T BE FOOLED BY THIS FLIMFLAM PLOY”…….We need CHANGE, and we need it now!

The warm days are here and once again, some city employees (parks, water, etc) can be seen cruising the city streets with the windows up and the a/c full blast. If you see them, follow them and see if they ever get out of their trucks. It is your taxpayer dollars that are paying for it.

Sadder yet, The Simpsons and SNL will never be as funny as they once were.
