After more than a month on the run, a suspect wanted for an aggravated robbery case is finally behind bars.  On Monday, March 16th, San Benito Police located 18-year-old Eric Vento Gonzalez hiding out at a friend’s house located on the 500 Block of South Austin Street. During the apprehension of Gonzalez, two other male subjects were also detained and later charged with separate offenses of possession of cocaine in a school zone and hindering apprehension.

According to a press release issued by the San Benito Police Department, upon arrival at the aforementioned residence, they observed Gonzalez and the two other individuals, later identified as 20-year-old Dominic Cervantes and 22-year-old Michael Vasquez, standing in the front yard. The report stated that Gonzalez immediately tried to avoid police by running inside the house, but was eventually subdued by one of the responding officers. Once in custody, Gonzalez was taken to the San Benito City Jail where he was arraigned and given a $50,000 bond.
