“We got to meet with our representatives and talk with them,” said San Benito Mayor Celeste Z. Sanchez of her mid-week trip to Austin.

San Benito officials teamed up with the Harlingen Chamber of Commerce, as well as Harlingen officials, and made a joint trip to the state capitol on Tuesday, Feb. 10 to petition legislators.

Sanchez said, “We had a nice reception, and I think we made a difference.”

What do all these comments have to do with the topic of the article? Answer: NADA, NIL, ZILCH…
Mr. Kevin Rodriguez….Just curious….What is the VMA website?

  1. For you guys that’s are not aware, the county will be running the school and city elections this year. All the shenanigans that happened last year will not be tolerated this, therefore, the true people choice will win and voter rights will not be disrespected/ violated.. Excited to see who wins!!!

What happened? I don’t remember anything being published on irregularities. All I remember the final tallys were by an overwhelming number. Care to expand?

  2. I personally don’t know this guy, but like I said, he has a lot of support from the people I’ve spoken too. On the others hand, you have Ana Cruz who unethically voted to approve of implementing the program that she work for, and has cost the district over $1million dollars to this point. In addition, she received a job promotion shortly after. It’s clear to me and my family, Orlando Lopez if he runs has our support….

Boy ohh Boy….all of these people writing sure have more of a personal not political interest in lives of these candidates. I mean its like you all see these people as demons plaguing San Benito and you all channel into their thoughts to understand their motives. You all bash bash and bash and clearly its the same people changing screen names over and over again, which can all be attributed to the camp that lost horribly last election. I remember when the Valley Morning Star had the same resemblance of this type of online comment bashing when the previous city manager was employed. All these keyboard warriors hiding behind a computer screen feeling invincible. I ask this, why not put your full name? If you feel so strong for your community stand up and let yourself be know. If you check the VMA website you can still comment on their articles, but you need a Facebook Login and consequently it will be publicly known if you are behind the slander, lies, and portrayal of misinformation. I challenge the SBNEWS to clean up this online ” hateful and irresponsible commenting/blogging” and hold people accountable to providing accurate information and not allow this paper to purposely become a bashing dumping ground. Like our former CH. 4 Ryan Wolf once said, “Keep it Clean”

That’s what everyone said when he ran last year. He’s all talk. His true colors came out. He’s just as bad as Ana. Probably worse cause he’s buddy buddy with Ms. Yliana – the true reason behind all this drama/trouble/bs the SBCISD is in.

  3. @ Negotiator
I hope that guy run against Ana Cruz. Ana’s time is up and I’ve heard he has a lot of support. It’s time for change so if Orlando Lopez Runs against Ana Cruz, he will defiantly have my family’s and friends support, guaranteed!!! 2015 comes change in place 2…

Be careful what you wish for…. YLIANA has perfected the art of doing things that ARE NOT in the best interest of the kids. At least ms. Cruz will answer any questions asked of her… The other lady says “no comment”.
Now all of the sudden we hear that the district is in a fiincial crisis? Blame all those board members…. Very single one because not one has spoken up!

  4. I’m not sure who’s running against Ana Cruz, but she better not go unopposed. Ana has turned out to be nothing but a manipulating, self centered politicians that has done nothing for the children’s nor employees of our district. I was extremely disgusted when she voted for her educational program that cost the district $1million dollars. Everyone talked about Chuy from Chuy custom sports pushing tablets a year ago when his daughter was on the board, and June abstained from voting when she didn’t have too. Ana was extremely critical about that purchase and now yes does much worse! Major hypocrite and she needs to go… Ana Cruz will lose 2015, that’s the word on the street and she doesn’t have an opponent yet.. Someone please run, you will have all my family’s and friends support!!!!
