MISSION —The temperatures were low, and so were the scores on the cards of the San Benito Greyhound golf team.

The Greyhound boys placed third out of 19 teams at the Sharyland Invitational, held last weekend at the always-challenging Shary Golf Course.

San Benito turned in a collective 699, paced by senior Ben Valle, who placed third individually, firing a two-day 83-77 (160) total to earn the bronze among top finishers.

Also turning in solid cards for San Benito were Daniel Guerra (97-90, 187 total), Mark Gonzalez (108, 93, 201), Frank Ortega (93,81, 174 total) and Aaron Gonzalez, (89-89, 178).

The San Benito boys will continue to hit the links as the spring season gets into full swing.
